Give Them Their Roses is part of a series that display African Masks that are from the countries where Enslaved Africans were brought to Charleston, South Carolina.  The Palmatto Rose is an important part of Geechee/Gullah culture, the boys primarily make the Roses out of Palm leaves.  It's an old tradition, that was brought to Charleston from West Africa.
